SVC-210

The experience is simply breathtaking
The Silent Electric Cello provides cellists with the opportunity to play in the rich acoustic environment of a concert hall without having to be there. This breathtaking experience is the result of a special chip created by Yamaha. This chip puts the full, rich tone of the Silent Cello into the virtual environment of an auditorium giving you the realistic impression that you are performing on stage. Thorough consultations with cellists led to the development of two unique body designs that offer the natural warmth and feel of acoustic instruments. Their "silent" characteristics keep acoustic sound to a minimum letting you practice at times in places you wouldn't have before. The SVC-210 offers easy to use functions along with the playability to fit individual styles and techniques. To really find out what the Silent Cello can do for you, visit your Yamaha dealer and give it a try.

Compact Size
The SVC-210 compact model offers the utmost in portability. The folding leg supports, removable chest and arm supports and tuning machines on the head provide the SVC-210 compact with slimmer, more compact dimensions for transport. When folded, the entire instrument fits snugly into a 1,310(L)mm x 220(W)mm x 240(D)mm (51-9/16" x 8-11/16" x 9-7/16") soft case, making the instrument extremely easy to carry and transport. Setup is quick and easy with large knobs that quickly attach or firmly fix the supports. In its performance configuration the instrument provides the player with a totally natural feel and excellent support.

Full, Rich Tone Enhanced With Spacious Reverb
Tone is what makes an instrument special. The SVC-210 possesses a warm, full-bodied tone with the timbral characteristics and nuances found in any acoustic cello. What's unique is its ability to place that sound in the rich acoustic environment of concert halls, without any external processing equipment. A specially designed chip by Yamaha digitally enhances the Silent Electric Cello's sound with reverb. Simply select from the Large Hall, Medium Hall or Room settings to hear yourself in different performance environments.

Practice with CD's, Connect to a PA
In addition to the SVC-210`s reverb section, the instrument is also equipped with Auxiliary In, Line Out and Headphone Jacks. Connect a compact disc player, mini disc player or cassette deck to the input jack to play with your favorite recordings. This is an extremely useful feature when practicing. With the output jack connected to a P.A., or external audio system, you can perform live.
The Full size body of the SVC-210 is easy to hold and play. The chest support, when attached during performance, offers the natural feel and resonance of an acoustic cello. Four fine tuning adjusters (one per string) make precise tuning quick and easy. Auxiliary volume control provides independent control over the volume of an external audio source. The SVC-210 operates on two SUM-3 (AA) size batteries or optional AC power supply PA-3B.
